Pete S. I was pondering the same thing the moment it happened.

I'm in favor of it if it makes monetary sense.

A little Shawn Andrews anyone?
The Eagles just released the former All-Pro guard, saying that they are moving in a different direction. I know, he has had injury problems over the past few years, and back injuries are always a cause for concern with OL. I also know that he is a bit of a handful, suffering from supposed "depression" last season that kept him out of camp, and beginning an underground (as it should remain) hip-hop career last season, among other things. BUT, he is a former-first round pick in 2004 and proved his talent to be deserving of such a high choice when he has not been injured. He has had sometime to get healthy only playing 2 games last season, and he is only 27 so there should still be a fair amount of football in front of him. Also, Reese has been known to be adept at handling character issue guys, so there is no reason he couldn’t work with Shawn as well. He could be an immediate upgrade to our LG position, and address one of our offseason concerns in terms of OL talent and depth. I’m not totally in love with the idea, but it is worth considering. What do you guys think?

No way the giants didnt go out and spend 37 million dollars on a saftey to draft another one in the first round, they may draft a saftey in the later rounds but def not first or second, not when they have such a glaring need at linebacker

I think the G-men will draft the best value player at 15. I think we shouldn't be overlooking the fact that the we still might have a need at sefety, or corner. Pillips may not recover as well as we would like, Ross is always hurt and Rolle is not that good, really. We might need a playmaker att safety... just a thought. With the 15th overall the New York Giants select Taylor Mays, Safety, USC.

It's like they've been trying to replace Tynes ever since that NFC championship game. I say draft a kicker!

I think we should stay put at 15 and draft Sean Weatherspoon, hes versitle, fast and can play either weakside or middle line backer. Then trade up in the second round, still some quality players around in the top of the second round and we might be able to find a steal of a DE or Oline

I completely agree with trading picks, cutting down the roster was hard enough last year, and this year we may be forced to carry 2 kickers and perhaps 3 QBs if they want to keep Bomar on the roster, I think there will only be room for 4 roster spots between picks and undrafted free agents when all is said and done.

That holiday kid out of LSU intrigues me a lot. He has tremendous ability, He's a return man and can catch out of the backfield. Similar to Sproles, what he would bring to our offense would be nice. Could be an good 4th or 5th round pick.
