Brandon Spikes Gets Passed By the Tortoise, and the Snail

Concerns about whether or not Brandon Spikes has the speed to be a 4-3 MLB in the N.F.L have been confirmed.

Brandon Spikes ran a 5.03 40 yard dash, which is YIKES! that would have been the fourth best time for an Offensive Linemen and nowhere near the top 10 for Defensive linemen.

Spikes also eye gouged a player and saw his production slip this past season.

Spikes may have pushed himself into the Third round where the Giants could take a chance on him there.

the Giants and Jeff Feagles are in a contract dispute. Feagles wants more money then the Giants are willing to pay, this may be a way for the Giants to stay “we tried to keep Feagles” but it didn’t work and may consider moving on. reports that the Giants are trying out an Australian Football Rules player sometime near in the future.

Feagles needs to go. He’s still good at getting it in the 20 but if we go 3 and out at our 20 or 30 feagles will kick it to their 40. We need a guy with a big leg to get us out of bad positions and help our defense

Brandon spikes is a great football player. 40 speed means nothing. I would be very happy to spend a 2nd on him or a 3rd on morrisson

I agree that 40 speed means nothing, but his tape speed was questionable and his 40 timed speed only draws more concern.

More concerning was his drop off in play from last year to this year and his drop off of play from two years prior to that.

He averaged about 5 tackles a game this past season (52 total) 3 sacks and 2 INT

In 2008 he had 87 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 INT

in 2007 he had 131 tackles, a sack and INT (81 of which were solo)

Maybe the Gators changed their defensive scheme for him, but a lot of people think he peaked in 2007.

I would have absolutely no problems with the giants selecting him in the third round, but I think the second round there will be better players available.

Ok. I believe he had less tackles as each season came because the opposing offenses schemed around him.
