Mark Ingram Sr. Gets Additional 2 Years In Prison

NFP with the story:

Ingram Sr.—who played wide receiver in the NFL from 1987-1996—pleaded guilty to money laundering and bank fraud in 2008 and was sentenced to seven years and eight months behind bars.

However, instead of surrendering to the authorities, Ingram skipped town in an effort to watch his son and the Alabama Crimson Tide take on Utah in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. That decision led to the additional prison sentence that was handed down on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

“I do this with a heavy heart,” U.S. District Judge Thomas Platt told Ingram, according to the Associated Press. “You’ve had a remarkable career and your son has a remarkable career. It’s too bad it had to end this way.”

Ingram spent ten seasons in the NFL, the first six of which were played in New York with the Giants. He caught 265 passes for 3,926 yards and 26 touchdowns in his career.

Talk about going down in a blaze of glory.
