Bulger Released: Fit For Giants?

Lost in all the McNabb drama is that Marc Bulger has been released by the Rams. He’s been in decline the past couple years, and injuries haven’t helped. While I’m sure he wants a starting job (however desperate he may be, he’s not going to Oakland), he’ll probably have to settle for a backup job. (By the way: This about settles it that Sam Bradford is going to go to St.Louis with the first pick. And he’s probably going to start right away, as well. Good luck with that, Sam.)  So, what about the Giants?

Jim Sorgi is penciled in as the backup, but he’s really not game tested. God forbid Eli goes down, Bulger could fill in capably. With an actual offensive line, he may do all right. Is he worth it?

Also, because of the McNabb trade, the Redskins don’t have a need for Jason Campbell. Would the Giants be interested in him? My man Andrew thinks so. I think Campbell would be a nice fit in New York. I’m not that happy with Sorgi as a backup, and even though Eli has been so durable so far, it only takes one play. Having an experienced backup is a great idea.

Sorgi’s fine, we need the roster spots for more pressing needs like CB and DL.

i mentioned bulger as a good back up when we were talkin about carr goin to san fran. I’d like him as a back up but realistically i dont think they’d grab him. Maybe the Bills?

i would rather bulger as a back up than sorgi. give bulger protection and he will be very affective. as for sorgi i dont want a qb who is ok with being a back up all his career i would rather a guy who has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove everyone wrong about his game play.

Da redskins are the stupidest team in football. They trade for mcnabb…. That’s incredibly dumb. Jason Campbell is an above average qb when he has time to read the defense. Last season, he did ok with a bunch of deadbeats at o-line. If I was the redskins, I would have resigned Campbell, traded down in the draft, grab the best LT, then add depth to the o-line and secondary. They have a three headed monster at RB with CP, LJ and WP. Watch out. Redskins could be the surprise team this year…..
