Reese, Ross and Coughlin On Pierre-Paul

Jerry Reese, Marc Ross and Tom Coughlin spoke to the media after the Pierre-Paul pick. Here are some of the quotes (this will be updated as more come in)

“He’s rangy like Mathias and that kind of height,” director of college scouting Marc Ross said. “But this guy’s he’s a freak of nature. He’s done things in scouting, in games that I just haven’t seen – his combination of length, power and speed, running through people, rag-dolling tackles. He’s just a different breed of athlete.”

“When he learns how to really play, watch out because he does some things naturally just playing. It’s like in your backyard, just going.”

“Go play. Let’s play the game,” Coughlin said when asked about balancing the ends’ egos. “Everybody’s got a chance to play, everybody’s going to contribute. We didn’t rush the passer very well last year, so let’s get back to playing football and rushing the passer, stopping the run and doing those kinds of things.

“Let’s go back to what we did a couple of years ago when we didn’t do a whole lot of talking and we played.”

Talking about “boom or bust”…

“You hear guys on TV say that,” Reese said. “You don’t hear many scouts say that. I think there’s a lot to like about him.”
