Do You Remember… Two Giant Touchdowns Against Dallas

Truth be told, either one of the following highlights could have their own dedicated post on my new weekly segment “Do You Remember…” — but I think you’ll soon understand why they’re here together today.  In fact, you may be wanting even more footage from this game but I don’t want these little glimpses of bliss get overblown and over used, I don’t want these things to turn into a desperate attempt at reliving a dream we all hoped would end well for our team… when in reality that dream turned out to be a collective nightmare for us all weeks later. But I’m spinning my wheels now and the highlights are getting further and further away…

The reason I like to post these highlights on Fridays is so that at the very least, we can end the week on a high note here at Giants Gab in one small way, regardless of what else is in the news. And usually I try to hold this little reminder to one video but frankly the beginning of this critical home game against Dallas had me so worked up that in hindsight, these two plays totally define a much needed victory in my mind that I can’t separate one from the other.  The game of course is the week 13 would-be victory over Dallas at home.

This is one of those games that unfortunately I could not watch because I was traveling, and all I had were iPhone updates during the first half. When the Giants got out to a 10-0 deficit in the second quarter, I thought it was over.  I became very depressed — even while I was supposed to be enjoying the most delicious sushi I’ve ever eaten in San Fransisco.  The last update I was able to get was before the Giants turned everything around and went up 14-10 to end the half.  I had no idea what happened until that night after I got back to the hotel and checked the score — and I literally flipped out with pure joy.  I’ll never forget popping open some Napa Valley wine and bringing the game up on NFL Rewind and I watched the damn thing twice I was so happy with this game.  I must have watched the following replays 20 times that night until that delicious bottle ran dry.

I can only hope I’m not alone when I say Brandon Jacobs and Domenik Hixon not only saved the Giants season that night, they saved our lives.   Too dramatic?  Hah! … not when it comes to Dallas.

So without further digression or personal embarrassment, here is Brandon Jacobs ripping off a swing pass for a 74 yard touchdown to retake the lead in the third quarter:

And here of course is the back breaker for Dallas — Domenik Hixon’s 79 yard punt return for a touchdown to seal the win for the Giants and the first sweep of the Cowboys since 2004:

Good times, Good times. The cowboys are my all time favorite team to beat, I love the fact we swept them.
