LB Jonathan Goff To Get First Chance At Replacing Antonio Pierce

NFL.com says that it looks like 08 second-round pick Jonathan Goff is in line to replace Antonio Pierce at the LB spot left open by the now retired Pierce:

There’s a lot of excitement around Perry Fewell leading the defense in New York, but also a big void to fill in the middle in the absence of Antonio Pierce. NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi told “NFL Total Access” on Friday that the player expected to get first crack at the vacant starting spot is Jonathan Goff. A second-round pick in 2008, Goff started four games last season. Gerris Wilkinson and rookie fourth-round pick Phillip Dillard will also get an opportunity to compete.They will get reps in what Lombardi says will be a close race throughout camp.

    Goff was a 5th rounder. He defntely has the smarts to do it.

  2. terrible that paid professionalS (We’re not paid here) with editing staffs and stuff would make such a big mistake.

    I think we all expected Goff to win the starting job to begin the seaosn.
