What Every Giants Fan Wants to Hear

Here’s a quote I found on Matt Mosley’s ESPN blog from ESPN.

I think Barden’s earned the right to get on the field,” Manning said Monday. “We need to get him some more game experience and see him make decisions on the run. But I think he’s earned the opportunity.”

I personally think Barden will see about 25 percent of the snaps catch maybe 25-30 balls and haul in five touchdowns.

He has huge potential, but I’ve learned to temper my expectations. Let’s hope he blows my predictions out of the water.

What do you guys expect from Ramses Barden this year?

Who has a bigger year Barden or Travis Beckum?

I dont think Barden needs to blow your prediction out of the water, we have enough receivers on the team where they can continue his development and keep him on the roster as the number 4 receiver, what I would like to see is the team using him in redzone situation. Id like to see them use him in a fade rout like they used to do with Plaxico Burress, maybe that could solve there problems in the redzone. Also I hate to say it but i think Beckum has a bigger year, he can line up in a lot of situations. he could line up wide, as an H back, and line up tight. hes more flexible then Barden is and I just have a feeling he will have a bigger year, I could be very wrong though.

Killdrive isn’t imaginative enough to incorporate Beckum, and probably won’t give Barden enough of a chance. Can you imagine the G-Men’s talent in the hands of a great innovator like Walsh or Mr. Air-it-Out, Coryell?

man, i’ve been talking about the Giants Offense overall(future), since the 09draft ednded.. With the pieces we already had (smith, Mario, boss, bradshaw, jacobs, snee, diehl) as far as young talent, then u go get a Beckum, who complements BOss really well, and Nicks, who u add to what smith and Mario do, and u got 3guys who combined, do every well, and then of course Barden, who has everything u want outside of a Speed Reciever, hes big, athletic, and very smart, and has “natural talent”.. He just seems as if hes gonna be good..

i expected nothing really last yr, just a learning yr basically, with this yr, u start to see the talent, and then next yr, after the learning yr and first yr of major minutes is outta the way, u got a basically complete barden… That said, i don’t expect to see him at his best untill next yr, but enough to realize, hes gonna be good..

    As a complete player, i can see special type numbers… 74recept 1040yd 8-10tds

I suspect Barden will have more opportunities to succeed than Beckum. The Giants do not seem to have a creative enough Offensive Plan to utilize tight ends as well as some other teams.Beckum would be a better fit with the way the Colts use Dallas Clark.

  5. Russ Loede says:

Travis Beckum will get many more opportunities, thus making more of an impact. The talent is definitely there. Kid was sensational at Wisconsin.

Will it translate over to this level?

I believe he possesses all the tools to become a “Jermichael Finley” type of player.
