Morning Practice Report

Here we go again. Injuries: Snee (knee), Beckum, Boss, Chandler, Ballard, Smith, Webster, Moss, Bulluck, Alford, Osi. In good news, Rich Seubert returned.

Victor Cruz, the undrafted rookie out of UMASS, was the big star (I’ll have a post on him and the other receivers going up late today or tomorrow). Manning and Tuck were their Pro-Bowl selves today, and Bear Pascoe continues to impress at tight end.

The Giants also experimented with a new defensive front: Tuck, Kiwi, JPP on the line, with Osi and Tollefson as linebackers. Perry Fewell continues to put defensive ends at linebackers, and I think it’s good to confuse looks like this. He’s also taking advantage of a strength at defensive line. The NASCAR package–four defensive ends–is a great start. Big Base, with Kiwanuka at linebacker and Canty at defensive end, is another.
