Giants and Panthers Injury Report

via footballnewsnow.com

“When the New York Giants host the Carolina Panthers Sunday they will do so without the services of linebacker Phillip Dillard.

Dillard has been ruled out of the season opener with a hamstring injury.

The bigger story for the G-Men is the status of cornerback Aaron Ross who is listed as doubtful with a foot injury. Ross has been battling plantar fasciitis, but claims to be ready to play.

“I missed all of last year so I’m really anxious to play,” Ross told ESPNNewYork.com. “I love the game so if I have to play with a little pain that’s what I’m willing to do as long as it doesn’t hurt the team.”

Linebacker Gerris Wilkinson (groin) is listed as questionable.

Linebacker Chase Blackburn (knee), defensive tackle Chris Canty (groin), center Shaun O’Hara (ankle, achilles), cornerback Corey Webster (groin) are all probable.

For the Panthers, tackle Jeff Otah (knee), linebacker Jordan Senn (ankle) and running back Tyrell Sutton (shoulder) have all been ruled out.
