Giants work out Cletis Gordon

The New York Giants worked out cornerback Cletis Gordon, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

Gordon played in one game for the Cowboys last season and spent three seasons with the Chargers prior to last year.

The Giants signed cornerbacks Brandon Hughes and Brian Jackson to the practice squad last week. Head coach Tom Coughlin hopes to have cornerback Aaron Ross available this week against Peyton Manning and the Colts. Ross is expected to practice after being out with plantar fasciitis

Gordon was surprisingly cut by the Cowboys this summer after having an unofficial count of 10 interceptions in training camp.

According to Mike Garafolo, some other interesting names worked out, too. However, this hasn’t been confirmed. Gordon could be solid depth, especially if Ross can’t play in future games down the road. He could be a nice addition in nickel packages, as well.
