Thinking About The Lions

The 1-4 Lions are coming to town, and don’t let their record fool you. This is a good football team, with a lot of weapons, especially on offense. When Matthew Stafford gets healthy, and this team matures a bit, they will be a playoff team. It’s not far away. There are a few players in particular the Giants need to watch out for.

-Ndamukong Suh

Besides having one of the greatest names ever, the number 2 overall pick in this year’s draft is quickly becoming a force at defensive tackle. He can get after the passer and stop the run. He may be a lot for Adam Koets to handle. I’d consider double teaming him.

-Calvin Johnson

Johnson, or Megatron, is one of the bestĀ receiversĀ in football. He doesn’t require a double team, but it’s a good idea. Corey Webster will have his hands full with the 6-5 Johnson. Again, putting a safety on him might be valuable.

-Jahvid Best

The Lions’ other first round pick, Best, is a touchdown waiting to happen. He can score on a run, on a pass, on anything. He’s exactly the type of player the Giants have issues with. Jon Goff can’t cover him. IN the passing game, putting a corner, maybe Aaron Ross might be a good idea. He’s so quick and can change directions so well, that you need someone who’s at least able to keep up with him.
