  1. Confused wife says:

Don’t know how to start a thread.

Watching the game, the Giants have the ball, Manning throws for first down.

Receiver is knocked on his butt. Penalty is called against the Giants for pass interference?

I am so confused! What the heck or how the heck can the offensive team be called on a penalty for pass interference?

    HELP!

    • I don’t remember the exact play you are referring to, but from the NFL Rule book

      a) Blocking downfield by an offensive player prior to the ball being touched.

      (b) Initiating contact with a defender by shoving or pushing off thus creating a separation in an attempt to catch a pass.
      (c) Driving through a defender who has established a position on the field.

B: is the one that is usually called and it usually has to do with the WR putting his hands on a defender and redirecting him or creating space artificially…wish I could remember the exact play though.

      Sorry if that didn’t help.
