    The kickoff rule does not really hurt the Giants, or help them for that matter in the return game. What it does, though, is help them with kickoff coverage. Lawrence Tynes’ leg is not the strongest, so this new rule will help him. It will also save some of his leg, too. The Giants had injuries to ST Captain Chase Blackburn and DE Dave Tollefson during special teams play. If they can stay a little bit healthier as a result of this rule, their coverage team is that much better.
