Manning Says Burress Comeback to G-Men Not Up to Him

The Giants released veteran wide receiver Plaxico Burress more than two years ago, before it became clear he would be locked up before he would get a chance to compete on the gridiron again. The Giants moved one, and while some like running back Brandon Jacobs have spoken up on his behalf, others apparently aren’t as enthusiastic about one of the team’s top performers in the Super Bowl upset of the Patriots.

Count quarterback Eli Manning as one who doesn’t seem interested in the Giants adding Burress back to the mix. “It’s not up to me,” Manning said, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. “So we’ll see what happens.” That’s not much of an endorsement right there. When asked if he himself want Burress back, Manning replied: “I don’t know, it’s not up to me.”
