Vonta Leach Interested In Giants

Vonta Leach, arguably the game’s best fullback, will be a free agent, and is interested in the Giants. According to ESPN New York, Leach has the Giants, Seahawks and Chargers on his list of teams that he wants to play for. The Giants attempted to add Leach in 2007, offering him a restricted free agent offer sheet, but it was matched by the Texans.

Fullback is not a pressing issue, but adding someone like Leach would be a coup. Leach did a great job in Houston, and helped Arian Foster win the rushing title. Still, with the Giants needing to sign their own free agents, plus looking to upgrade the linebacker position, signing Leach may not be in the cards.

    Yeah, it’d be great.
The man is too expensive though. There’s a supposedly good UDFA FB out of Pittsburgh whose name I keep forgetting (there’s an “y” in it …).
Sure he wouldn’t perform the way Leach would but he’d be way cheaper (althought it is important to note that Leach didn’t have great seasons in 08 and 09 according to most Texans blogs, so he’s no sure thing either)
