Giants in Better Cap Space Then Expected

According to ESPN New York, the Giants will be $6.1 million over the now official cap, and not $11.3 million, which is great news for Giants fans on the first official day the Lockout is over. It appears now the Giants can get under the cap with just one or two roster moves. The can save $7.5 million by cutting T Shawn Andrews. With some restructuring of some contracts, the Giants are poised, and in good enough shape, to possibly resign all there big named free agents.

    The must have on that list is Steve Smith. Michael Johnson is a bum and Sash the draft choice will replace him. Bradshaw should also be a must have, but obviously expensive. Bulluck’s old – let him go – the draft choice will replace him. The rest are okay for depth – pay cuts to all.

    Is Tiki Barber calculated in this cap number if so he was owed like 8mil so after cutting him that’ll probably bring us under the cap.Man, I want to see Grant back.

    Sam: No, Tiki is not counted against the Cap. He will be released, without penalty soon. He will be free to sign with another team upon his release.
