Giants Ask Bernard, Andrews To Restructure Contract

Looks like the Giants are trying to save some money. The Giants have reportedly asked Rocky Bernard and Shawn Andrews to modify their contracts. Whether or not they will remains to be seen. With the cuts of O’Hara and Seubert, Andrews has suddenly become very valuable, and has an inside track on a starting spot. Bernard is a bit more expendable.

Andrews did tweet that they couldn’t come to an agreement:

Myself & Big Blue Couldn’t Come To An Agreement On A Favorable Contract, But “IT AIN’T OVA” Thanks 4 Trusting In Me!!!

Does “It Ain’t Ova” mean negotiations are ongoing, or that he’s a goner? We’ll find out

According to reports, it appears the Giants and Andrews could not reach an agreement. He’ll likely be cut.

Holy crap, who’s going to play C and LG for us? 😮

according to ny sports live (http://nysportslive.sportsblognet.com/2011/07/26/giants-dt-rocky-bernard-will-take-a-paycut-to-create-cap-space/) Rocky Bernard restructured his contract to make league minimum. This is a good sign considering he barely plays and we need the cap space desperately.
