Giants Ask Jacobs To Restructure Contract

In what’s becoming a bit of theme, the Giants are asking Brandon Jacobs to restructure his contract, according to Mike Garafolo. Jacobs is set to make $4.65 million. Garafolo noted that Jacobs is open to restructuring. As he said in March:

“If they happen to ask to take the pay cut and it is an unnecessary amount, then absolutely not,” Jacobs told ESPN New York back in March. “But other than that, if it is something that can be done, then yes, then whatever is going to get the team going and winning.

“But once you take off an astronomical amount, that is not going to happen. I’d be open to it as long as it is fair to me.”

Jacobs could decline to restructure, and the Giants could release him. However, with Ahmad Bradshaw exploring his options, and limited options on the depth chart, look for Jacobs to stay in Blue.
