Jacobs Agrees to Restructure, Updated List of Rookie Signings

Giants RB Brandon Jacobs said he was willing to restructure his contract in order to help keep free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw in the big apple. He might have done just that. Jacobs, who finished the year as the starting RB, agreed to restructure his contract which had a base salary of $4.65 million. We don’t know how much money he agreed to shave off, but we know that he can earn most of it, if not all of it back thanks to incentives. His contract in 2012 ($4.9 million), which is his final season under contract, will remain the same. This is great news as it frees up some much needed cap space to help resign free agents such as RB Ahmad Bradshaw, TE Kevin Boss and WR Steve Smith… And oh yes, Plaxico, too.

Here’s an updated list of the Giants rookies who have signed so far:

Second-round pick DT Marvin Austin has reportedly agreed to terms according to the Newark Star-Ledger.

Third-round pick WR Jerrel Jernigan has agreed to terms for a four-year deal.

Fourth-round pick OT James Brewer reportedly will be agreeing to terms shortly.

Sixth-round pick LB Jacquian Williams has agreed to terms.

Sixth-round pick S Tyler Sash reportedly has agreed to terms of a contract according to the New York Daily News.

Seventh-round pick RB Da’Rel Scott has agreed to a four-year deal worth around $2.1 million according to a source.

      And Quinn. And TC.

      it’s not happening though.

AB, Smith and Boss have been handed offers.
I don’t see why any of them would refuse.
