Reese: Veteran punter will compete with Matt Dodge

UPDATE (4:15 PM):

Steve Weatherford just tweeted that he’s coming to the Giants.

Here is his tweet: “I’m on my way back to NYC but my helmet has changed. I’m excited to get the opportunity to help this prestigious franchise win a world title”

Amazing news. Maybe he knows not to punt to Desean Jackson

Great addition, I didnt like the rumors about Maynard. Weatherford is one of the best young punters in the league. Dodge is going to punt his HEART OUT to win this battle. Now a good punter is just 1/2 the issue, now we need our Sp.Teams coach and assistant to get our Sp.Teams to freaking cover a punt and kickoff also!

  2. Hixon is back this year and I have a feeling he will have good year.

    About time !

Best case scenario : Dodge learns precision and confidence from Weatherford and becomes a directional booming punter.
If he doesn’t then Weatherford starts the season on the roster.

Nobody else remembers how Weatherford forgot how to kick a ball inside the 20 when it mattered? There’s a reason the Jets gave him up, he isn’t that good, still better than Dodge though, I hope I never have to see that Kennedy looking bastard in blue ever again.
