Giants Sign QB David Carr

After a one-year hiatus from the big apple, QB David Carr is back. And no, it’s not with the Jets. Carr left the Giants after two seasons to compete for a starting spot in San Francisco. Carr will compete with Sage Rosenfels for the backup QB position. Sage Rosenfels does have $3 million base cap salary and if the Giants decide to cut him, it would provide them with some much needed cap relief.  According to a source, though, the Giants have no plans to cut Rosenfels for now. Rosenfels has lost some leverage now that new P Steve Weatherford is a place holder, too. This all but ends QB Jim Sorgi’s chances of coming back to the team and competing for a spot, as well.
