Jacobs Unhappy; Doesn’t See Himself With Giants Long Term

Brandon Jacobs is unhappy. In an interview with Men’s Fitness, Jacobs talked about the lack of carries he and Ahmad Bradshaw are getting.

“Well, he’s not being used as much as he can be, either. It’s a very confusing thing,” Jacobs said. “I’m just here, doing the best that I can do to help my team. I come out to win; it’s up to them whether or not they want to use me.”

“I just can’t wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again, you know? Next year, hopefully,” said Jacobs, who is expected to return to action on Sunday against the Dolphins after sitting out the past two games with a knee injury. “This is a business and you have to look at it that way. I just want to get out there and show myself. It’s going to have to be for another team, but it is what it is. It comes with the territory.”

When asked if he sees himself with the Giants past his current contract, Jacobs said, “No, I don’t.”

The Giants owe Jacobs $500,000 in March as a roster bonus. The Giants could use that as an opportunity to cut him. He’s owed $4.9 million next season. Lots of money for a backup. Jacobs, I don’t think, is long for New York. I think he wants out, because he wants to be a starter. Will he find an opportunity? I don’t know. Teams are using the draft to find backs, especially the later rounds. Backs are cheaper and easier to find. Jacobs might want to try to stay in New York. If not, he might not get the money he’s looking for.

Shut up and play. This is not the time for this. Talk about it in the off season.

What??? You gotta be kidding me….what a crybaby. Cant believe I own his jersey…How about you just play at a level that you think would warrant interest from other teams? That includes not trying to dance around like bradshaw and getting stuffed on 3rd and 1 or 3rd and goal. In fact so far this year your only memorable play was in philly with the wheel route. Looks like i will be selling my 27 jersey on ebay here shortly………….

He is so F-ing annoying!! I don’t play for 3 weeks but I’m gonna bitch that I don’t get the ball enough? Give me a break Dude. Finish the season, pack your bags, sell your house and get the hell out of Dodge!

Running back is by far the easiest position to replace. Im not too worried.

  9. Big Daddy says:

He cannot be the go to back who carries more than 20 times a game. He proved that he’s not durable enough. Was there a season he wasn’t hurt?

I wish some guys would STFU and play. Keep talking and you’ll end up like TO, he had a party and nobody came. I bet he has some good football left in him yet not one team wants him. There are some that desperately need a WR and still will not sign him.

Jacobs is on his way to becoming a cancer.

Why is anyone surprised by this? I’m only surprised that it took him this long to start talking this season. Doesn’t he usually do this by week 3 or 4 every year??
