Cruz Un-Injured In Club Shooting; When Will Players Learn?

I know I’m late on this, so I apologize. Victor Cruz, along with Chris Canty and perhaps other Giants, were un-injured in a club shooting on early Tuesday morning.

First off, I’m glad they’re ok. One victim did die, and that is awful. We of course are thinking about them and their family.

But secondly, I just don’t get why there’s a need for NFL players, or any professional players, to go to a club? They’re going to be a target. In some ways, violence comes to them. I understand the desire to hang out and relax with friends. I’m sure it’s also a great place for these rich guys to meet women. But, there are other ways to relax with friends and meet girls. Safer ways. When you’re famous, you become a target. It’s that simple. Why do you think Plax felt the need to bring a gun that fateful night? Because they are targets, and there are threats out there.

I doubt players will stop partying. They need to blow off steam. There are just other ways, maybe safer ways, to do that.

Really? ????? So these guys have to stay home because there might be an idiot at the club…So let’s tell off duty police officers to stay home and firefighters let’s just tell everyone to stay home. That’s just dumb stay home cause something might happen. What’s next don’t come to the game Sunday you MIGHT be in an accident… Get a grip these guys are young and should be allowed to unwind how they want not be punished cause they are good at what they do.

I agree. There isn’t any valid reason that these guys shouldn’t go out and enjoy themselves. Plax was a dumbass who was carrying a gun that doesn’t have a manual safety in the waistband of his pants without a proper holster while having a round in the chamber. Plax stood up, gun fell inside his pants, he grabbed it and boom it went off. That could have happened to him at home eating cornflakes. Can’t fix stupid

Yeah I don’t think you can blame them for going out on their night to let loose. Coughlin give them Tuesday nights to go do what they want but Coughlin is right in saying nothing good happens at 2:30 in the morning. They should have been home in bed at that time. Save the late nights and partying for the off season.
