Suggs Wins Defensive Player Of The Year; JPP Finishes 4th

Those who believed that JPP would be defensive player of the year didn’t get their wish; that honor went to Baltimore LB Terrell Suggs. JPP finished fourth behind Jared Allen and Justin Smith. He received 5 first place votes. Disappointing, but still an incredible season and let’s remember: this was only his second season. Plenty of time for awards for JPP.

I’m just not understanding why JPP finished so low. The man was an animal this season. An unstoppable force who helped his team get to the Super Bowl, no less! Ah well…

I believe the voting is done before the playoffs begin, but I still didn’t think Suggs would win, I was thinking Allen, JPP, Smith, Suggs.
