TE’s Jake Ballard & Travis Beckum undergo ACL surgery

It appears today marked the first day in a long road to recovery for two Super Bowl Champions. TE Travis Beckum and his tight end brother, TE Jake Ballard both underwent reconstructive surgeries to repair torn ACL’s on both respective players. Both players are expected to start the season on the PUP list.

With injuries to the starter, Jake Ballard, and his backup, Travis Beckum, the Giants might be pressed to address the need of a new starting tight end for opening day.

Good luck to both of them, I know a lot of people have had some harsh things to say about Beckum, but in the playoffs when he was asked to come in and make plays he did. Maybe he’ll never live up to what we thought he could be, but that’s because we looked at him as a first rounder that somehow slipped to us in the third round of the draft, but there’s a reason he slipped, and it isn’t his fault he’s not built perfectly for the NFL at his position. He showed a lot of poise and class this year and I hope for his recovery, along with Ballard who showed he could be a solid starting TE in the league.
Speaking of knee injury recoveries, I’m curious where Hixon and TT are at this point, I hear TT is in good spirits and feels he will contribute at the same level right away, Hixon though is the one I really worry about as he’s had multiple knee injuries.
