Giants Sign Weatherford To 5 Year Deal

After franchising him, the Giants have signed Steve Weatherford to a 5 year, $12.75 million deal. Congrats to him. He’s a really great punter. Happy to have him for 5 more years.

Another great move by Reese. I’m really liking this offseason so far.

Two great CHFF articles on wide receivers.

Glad to keep him, but that’s a lot to pay a punter, especially when IMO the first order of business this year should’ve been to get Cruz locked up for a few years.

It’s actually less than the franchise tag. Yet you’re right it’s a lot (top 3 punter) but he he plays for 5 years like he played this season it’s worth it. I think.

I don’t know what the plan is on Cruz. First, the man just has ONE great season. Let’s not get carried away even if he did show the whole package.
Second, I’m not sure this is the greatest period to sign WRs … crazy contracts are being signed, Reese would be wise to let this settle a bit.
