Quick Hit Profiles: OL

We continue our quick hit profiles with the offensive line.

JEFF ALLEN, T, ILLINOIS

Allen is an experienced tackle who can play both sides. Really good pass protector. Needs some work in run blocking, but a lot of potential and could potentially play at right tackle right away.

TONY BERGSTROM, G, UTAH

Bergstorm is big guard, who played tackle in college. Dependable player with versatility as a backup.

PHILLIP BLAKE, C/G, BAYLOR

The Canadian is almost 27, but Blake is a big dude. 6-3, 311. Has potential as a swing interior backup.

MIKE BREWSTER, C/G, OHIO STATE

Brewster was badly beaten time and time again by Michigan’s Mike Martin at the Senior Bowl, but Brewster is an experienced (49 starts) and smart lineman. Plays with some nastiness, but has some technique issues. His experience could help him play right away as an interior backup.

DEREK DENNIS, G, TEMPLE

Dennis is a big man, who plays with some nastiness. Strong, has played inside and out. Another guy who has potential as a backup.

BRYCE HARRIS, T/G, FRESNO STATE

Another smart, versatile backup, who can play all over and not embarrass you.

RISHAW JOHNSON, G, CALIFORNIA (PA)

Johnson is a former Ole Miss player who transferred after being dismissed from the team, due to his involvement in a credit card fraud. Has the requisite size and athletic ability, but does not play to his measurables and has suspect character. Struggled at center in the Senior Bowl.

MARCEL JONES, T, NEBRASKA

Good size, very athletic and fared well against Von Miller. Jones has a troublesome back, which could limit his draft status.

RON LEARY, G, MEMPHIS

Leary is a big and physical guard who plays hard and finishes blocks. Not a great athlete and has had weight problems. College left tackle who will be a guard in the pros.

LUCAS NIX, G, PITTSBURGH

Nix is a big, physical guard prospect who plays nasty. Lots of technique issues. But is very aggressive and with some coaching, can potentially become a starter.

RILEY REIFF, T, IOWA

A typical Iowa offensive line prospect. Smart. Great size, agile. Can play left and right. Short arms, which could cause him to slide to 32.

MATT REYNOLDS, T/G, BYU

College left tackle who will have to move to the right side or inside in the pros. Agile. Good leverage. Not physical. Has potential

QUENTIN SAULSBERRY, G/C, MISSISSIPPI STATE

Good size, high effort player who is not really athletic. Gets by on smarts and effort. Swing backup potential.

ANDREW TILLER, G, SYRACUSE

Huge. 6-5, 325. Powerfull. Technique issues. Has struggled with weight. Has size and power to maul guys in the run game.

JEREMIAH WARREN, G/C, SOUTH FLORIDA

Physical blocker who needs technique work but is very strong and plays hard.
