Everything You Ever Wanted To Know And More About David Wilson

David Wilson is the Giants’ first round pick. So let’s learn about him, shall we. Videos, scouting reports and more:

He’ll be wearing #34. Guess that marks the end of Deon Grant:

He can backflip, too:

Lesson here: If you can do multiple backflips in a row, the Giants will like you.

*Editor’s note: I cannot do one backflip, let alone multiple*

Against Virginia:

From Josh Norris:

Old school runner, keeps treading feet with solid motor. Amazing burst from a stand still, powerful even in first couple of steps. Sometimes has too many steps during change of direction but burst makes up for it. Refuses to go down, even too much at times? Always¬†fighting. Doesn’t look like a real instinctive runner, can see him make decisions, not fluid. Loses the ball when fighting for extra yards. Will he hurt himself? Lowers his head on contact, runs like AP. Tendency to stretch runs out too far when lane is blocked, line flowing. Thats not to say he can’t see a lane, if LB/S is blocked he follows. Improvisation was effective in college, but if down on score board he consistently swings for the fences. Not content to run out of bounds. Looks uncomfortable as a receiver, hesitates after the catch. Lacks a real wiggle, his wiggle is slow lateral hop and winning on contact. Doesn’t hold the ball in proper arm. All he cares about is gaining extra yards, not worried how he’ll get it. My bet is he’s the first to wear down his tires, maybe too physical.
