There’s a game tonight…..finally.

This is the first preseason game and I am very excited, I have been waiting for what seems an eternity. There are issues right now with replacement referees, there has been a lot of complaints about the calls and more so the non-calls. The talk is coaches are concerned with the non-calls and about their starters getting hurt. Many young players are eager to make a name for themselves in order to make the team. They will be looking to hit and because of over zealousness on a young players part you can lose your starting QB, not good. So I don’t expect to see much of the starters tonight.

That’s OK with me, I am more interested in the backups. I will be watching closely to see who is doing what. Now it’s time to play and people will be out there hitting. We’ll see who steps up and who is just great in camp and will not show up when it counts. This is time for some players to show what they can do or their stay with the Giants will be over. You know who “they” are.

If you have been following my write ups about each position you should know who will be out there. You might see some questionable players get playing time. Coughlin has to see if these players have it in game time. One might be Antwaun Molden, he is a veteran and Coughlin prefers vets, he has not had a good camp so far. So you might see some of him, if he plays poorly I think he’ll be in the first round of cuts.

I will be doing a write up of the game this weekend and will break it up some way. Like the starters, first backups and so on, that might be a possibility, maybe just highlight outstanding players first. Whatever way seems best I will try to give an unbiased review of each player.

Let us all cross our collective fingers and hope there are no injuries tonight.
