I have been reading a lot of opinions on the Giants play from Friday night. I have my own but I always try to keep an open mind and listen to others. I do not pretend to know everything and certainly nobody does. Even Bill Parcells admits he has made mistakes, who knows more about football than Big Bill?
I wanted to review a few things that were brought up and a few things the players themselves have said. I looked at some game highlights on YouTube to help my review. I noticed that when you watch it over you see so much more and when you watch it over and over again you see EVERYTHING. So I said to myself I want to see everything and the reason is that I want to provide the readers with a true unbiased assessment of the Giants play.
So I opened up the wallet and bought the NFL game pass thing so I can see everything, all 22, everything. I just started watching and it was amazing. I do recommend to anyone serious about watching football to pay the money and watch it like a coach would, it’s really fun and very cool. I will do some in-depth reviews during the week of the game and individual players. Not from memory, I will be watching them closely on film.
For starters the first play of the game was a run. Two reasons it went nowhere. One was Bradshaw hit the hole a little late, he was waiting for the blocks to set up and the big reason, number two, Bennett completely missed his block. If he made the block it would have been a nice gain. Bear made a good block, the key was Bennett’s miss. And he knew it after the play, you could tell by his body language.
So now I have a tool to use, I won’t have to go by memory or some so-so highlights. I got da real thang brother. In a way I feel like a voyeur, like I am peeking into a secret realm that nobody should see. I honestly feel that if someone wants to write about football they need to get this and that’s why I did. I did it so that I could bring to Giants Gab the best reporting of the team I could without guess work. No more guessing and trying to write reviews from notes I took of the game. I can see for sure who did what and report to loyal Giants fans the facts about their teams play.
Years ago there was a TV show called Dragnet, the main character was a police sergeant. He would always say, “Just the facts ma’am.” So now when I am writing about the Giants that’s exactly what you’ll get, just the facts.

This is awesome… you have such good player breakdowns *already*… the sky is the limit now that you have these different angles!!! Looking forward to reading your new stuff!!!
WOW, thank you, I really appreciate it.
Big Daddy,

I will do my best, thank you.
I agree with the two comments above. Your analysis & insight is awesome! Thank you.
I am humbled, thank you.
You bet Parcels made mistakes. Like starting Scot Brunner over Phil Sims.
Some football genius.
That was a love/hate relationship with Simms. I think Parcells would do that to play mind games with his players and let them know he was the man in charge. Phil was headstrong and had a mind of his own, they butted heads many times. I remember them arguing on the sidelines during games.
I thought had George Young got Parcells some better players he would have maybe some more super bowl wins. That’s one reasons Parcells left. But the Giants where cheap and Young started slipping with his draft picks. Although I never thought Parcells was the best drafter, he did pick some great players wherever he was.
Parcells stuck it to Young and the Giants. He made Young look like a horse’s butt with the and I am still trying to forget it, the hiring of Ray Handley. Handley graduated Standford and has an IQ of 140. So much for needing to be smart to play or coach football.
The problem with a coach as good as the Tuna is that sometimes they believe their own hype. You can’t really blame him, but when a coach’s head gets swelled up like that (which has happened a little too often with him) the results aren’t always that great. This IMO is the reason why he never had immense success after leaving the Giants, he started to believe his own crap.
I can’t disagree.
That’s a thing about the NFL, a lot of BIG egos and a lot of politics.
