Now some bad news.

Word is JPP is having back issues. Nothing serious, he’s not going to play in Friday’s game against the Bears. I guess it’s a situation in that the next game is only 5 days later. That would be Wednesday against the Pats and one week later against the Cowgirls in the first game of the regular season. So holding him out makes sense even for the Pats game.

What is it this season with back injuries, I can’t believe it’s the beds. JPP always had some back issues and I’m sure it’s just sore. He did have some funny body language on the sideline, it looked like he had some back pain. I know the look, I live with it every day.

I expect to see a lot of backups that are fighting for a job at DT and DE. I hope to see more of Mosley and Brewer on the offensive line at the tackle positions to see if they are a potential step up from Locklear and Deihl.

It seems everybody involved with the NFL sees the issues with the Giants offensive line. It’s being talked about more and more.

JPP also had back issues his rookie year during camp.

Yeah the Oline is scary. The starting line has decent talent, nothing special. The problem is if anyone goes down we will be in some serious trouble.

The day of the first round of the draft I made a post about how disappointed I was to see the Giants take David Wilson over a much needed offensive linemen. Wilson better be a stud to make up for the potential talent we could have had at LT for the next 10 years!

I really think Wilson is a stud and it was necessary to draft a RB. But Reese did miscalculate on the offensive line in thinking he could squeeze one more year out of Deihl and that Snee would continue to play at a high level.

The Jet front 7 is very good and nothing should be taken away from them. Bennett and Bear have to block better, it’s not just the lineman.

He probably hurt it throwing Mook into the pool.

    I mean “ice Bath”

offensive tackle is potentially the major flaw for the team. the team needs Beatty’s pass blocking on the left
so that the team can scheme to cover up Diehl’s poor play on the right until Brewer or somebody else is ready.

I hope we can catch an oline man or 2 off waivers like an otah ect……

On another note, I don’t like the vibe I’m getting about Boley’s hammy. Few news, it was supposed to be nothing and it’s almost been 3 weeks now. Hammies are tricky and this might keep him of the field way longer than we think.

    • Big Daddy says:

Absolutely right about hammy’s, even baseball players with thick legs had same problems. They don’t go away easily. Boley might not be good all season, the trade for Rivers was genius by Reese, a steal.

This is Boley’s last year on contract and I think he will not be re-signed, it’s Rivers job to lose now. In fact I think Rivers is better, he’s just still a little tentative. As he gets more comfortable you’ll see the athletic abilities take over. He hits hard for a lighter player, I still would like to see him at 240 next season.

An article from NFL.com on Amukamara and how the players are basically “trying to bully him into be man” or something.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000053143/article/giants-want-amukamara-to-raise-swag-factor

When you hear him talk, he almost comes accross a “geeky”, all serious and calm and all.
I’m pretty sure that if filming him getting picked on and then posting it on youtube has any kind of influence on his confidence, it won’t be in the “improvement” direction. Hopefully he proves them wrong and shows that toughness isn’t measured by how much you scream at opposing WRs on the field …

I feel like the coaches failed him btw.

Overall, some players come out sounding like douchebags from that article.

When Alpha males get together and some of them are HUGE men, even the small guys are way bigger and stronger than the average person there is going to be things happening.

Anybody that has been in sports or the military knows what I am talking about. People when they get together can be cruel without realizing it. This was a case of hazing, it has been done since the times of the Greeks and Romans, maybe before that.

It’s human nature, they also did it to Randle. They missed Prince because last season they didn’t have time because of the lockout. When his chance comes and he’s a vet he will be involved in doing it to younger players. Although if he did not like it I hope he’s man enough to stand up and stop it from happening to others. That’s true leadership, most people do not have that extreme quality.
