With RB Andre Brown headed to the short-term IR, the Giants were in need of a running back to provide depth. After working players, they’ve signed RB Kregg Lumpkin. Lumpkin spent 2011 with the Buccaneers, rushing for 105 yards on 31 carries and catching 41 passes for 291 yards. Lumpkin signed with the Packers in 2008 as an undrafted free agent and started this year with the Seahawks before getting released.
Lumpkin will offer the ability to protect and catch out of the backfield, something the Giants have missed with RB D.J. Ware on the Buccaneers this season.

The Eagles had some breaking news today, as they put WR DeSean Jackson on IR and cut DE Jason Babin. As you know, Babin had 18 sacks last season. He’ll be placed on waivers. They’re will be a long list of teams after Babin, that’s for sure.
