Giants release LB Michael Boley

The New York Giants have released LB Michael Boley after a disappointing season. After having his role phased out towards the end of the season, The Giants have decided to part ways with Boley. As many of you have noted, Boley was entering the final year of his contract. The Giants will save roughly $4.5 million in cap space by cutting ties with Boley. LB Keith Rivers is a free agent, but the Giants liked him when he was healthy and he, alongside Jaquan Williams are a cheaper combo then Boley. The Giants will use the money they save by cutting ties with the super bowl champion else where.

I’m hearing rumblings that the Giants aren’t done making moves, so stay tuned.

I think the Gmen are making bad moves soon. Cruz should be top priority over Nicks. He is healthier, a fan favorite and has the Giants Record at WR. Nicks is important no doubt but not over Cruz. Cut Deihl over Boley.

The LBS were the worst unit on the field last year. Boley is 30, getting paid far too much and has been hurt 2 years in a row. Williams and Paysinger will replace his production nicely.

Thanks for all you did for us Michael, but this is the NFL…a business, and you made poor business sense to our team.

    Good Luck.

Thomas shouldn’t be too far behind, my question is, does anyone know Canty’s cap number? It has to be higher than Boley’s and he was less productive last year and at a position that will be plentiful in free agency.
