When we said yesterday that they’ll likely be more cuts after the Giants shed the salary of LB Michael Boley we weren’t kidding. The Giants have announced today that they have released starting RB Ahamd Bradshaw and DT Chris Canty. The moves, as you know, are a result of the salary cap. By cutting Bradshaw, Canty and Boley the Giants saved $13.75 million in cap space. With the salary cap set at $121.1 million, the Giants are at $118.25M now.
Keep in mind the salaries of CB Terrell Thomas and DE Osi Umenyiora will be off the books soon giving the Giants about another $4 million in cap space. The Giants have also released DT Martin Parker, who ended the season on IR.
— I have heard that another cut or two is upon the horizon so stay strapped in. This isn’t over. It might be for today, but check back here in the next few days. More on this soon.
