Giants Re-Sign QB David Carr

The Giants brought back veteran Quarterback David Carr on a one-year deal today to back up Eli Manning. Carr is now 33 years old (turns 34 in June) and returns to the GMEN for a fifth season (2008-2009; 2011-2012). He has not started a game for the Giants mainly because Eli Manning has started 135 consecutive regular-season games, the NFL’s longest active streak. Carr wanted to test the free agent market for a potential starting opportunity and he did draw some interest, however, his preference was to return to the Giants on a one year contract. The Giants depth chart at QB now looks like this: Manning (1), Carr (2) and reserve/future signing, Curtis Painter (3).
