The Best of the Rest – Thursday Morning Links

Here are the best of the morning links out there on the ‘internets’ regarding all things Bib Blue.

Redskins have slight edge in most wide-open division

Obviously the mainstay bullet in the Giants’ gun is Eli Manning:

One thing the Giants can count on year after year is Eli Manning. Not only is the QB who has led them to two Super Bowl titles a steadying influence and a crunch-time performer, he just never gets hurt in a league where QB play is paramount.

And that’s the reason why the Giants take the division and are playoff bound this year. Our team has a bitter taste in their collective mouths, they have a new and revitalized defense, a healthy Nicks, new TE’s with soft hands ready to catch the ball — should be an improvement from 9-7 last year.

Hakeem Nicks as healthy as he can be

Hakeem Nicks talks about his preseason and taking a much needed break from OTA’s to heal:

“It definitely did,” Nicks said. “I definitely benefited from it. At the same time, it helped me get to this point as well. My body feels extremely good. It’s the best it’s felt in a long time. I just have to make sure I keep going uphill.”

Giants Offensive Line Prepares for Re-worked Cowboys Defense

“You know what he can do. You know how he can destroy a team,” Beatty said of Ware. “You’ve played him before, so he knows your mistakes and you know his, so it’s all about how you’re going to change what you did last time. He has his technique down pat, so he can focus on you. So you’ve got to make sure you’re going to show him something different than you did the last time.”

Can Corey Webster Turn the Corner?

“Every year is a bounce-back year,” he said. “Last year, I thought I was going to have a good year, but it’s football, so you have injuries here, plays there. It’s all part of the game. You get over it, you get better from it, you learn from it. And then you move on.”
