Government Shutdown Interrupts NFL and MLB Coverage To Troops

This is totally apolitical folks, but the world has not ended since the government shutdown days ago. What has ended however is the sports feeds to overseas troops who otherwise would have had access to MLB and NFL action this week.

via the Washington Examiner:

In the meantime, overseas troops who typically look forward to watching NFL games and the baseball playoffs provided by the Armed Forces Network, will get little if any service due to the shutdown. A notice on the AFN page reads: “GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. Due to the government shutdown, the Defense Department can only provide limited overseas television, radio, print and web services.”

I must say that no matter where you fall on it — it really sucks for the troops who would like a little taste of home through some harmless American entertainment in the form of NFL and MLB playoff TV.
