LB Jon Beason Traded To Giants For Late Round Draft Pick

The rumor going around right now is that the Giants have acquired Carolina Panther veteran LB Jon Beason for a late round draft pick.   This is exciting news if true — Beason is a  pro bowl LB who has had injury issues since 2011.  Pending a passed physical, this transaction will go through.

As we’ve been saying on Twitter – yes it’s exciting the Giants are looking at Beason.  Will he be better than our current LBs?  We can’t possibly know. Similar moves with Aaron Curry and Keith Rivers haven’t exactly worked out yet. But the Giants will always remember Jon Beason from his punishing 2009 performance against the Giants to close out the old stadium.  In that game, Beason had 10 total tackles, 6 stops, and a sack.  The front office tends not to forget those performances, Antrel Rolle was noted for a good game in 2008 the same way when he was in Arizona.
