The Giants made some roster moves today in light of a battered RB core. Da’Rel Scott was waived and will be added to the season ending injured reserve list if he clears waivers. Peyton Hillis, DJ “Danny” Ware, Ryan Torain and Jeremy Wright all worked out with the Giants today.
Ware, Torain, and Wright are all former NY Giants.
It has come to this with Brandon Jacobs and rookie 7th round draft pick Michael Cox still on the roster — bringing back Ware and Torain as last-ditch effort’s to salvage a season. If you follow Giants Gab on Twitter, you know that I’m still in disbelief they cut Torain ahead of the final 53 deadline. He looked great this preseason, and with Andre Brown a bigger back that can push the pile around the goal line, he is the first RB I would have brought in weeks ago to replace him.
Would the Giants record be any different if they made this move in week 2? Probably not.
But if Torain does get signed and looks good – and I have no idea why he wouldn’t – I won’t hesitate to say I told you so.
