RB Peyton Hillis is reportedly signing with the NY Giants after working out with the team yesterday. Hillis last played with the KC Chiefs and Tampa Bay Bucs, and was ranked the 15th best blocking RB in the league. Last year, of course, Ahmad Bradshaw was ranked #1 by a wide margin in that category.
Hillis said about the opportunity with the Giants:
“I firmly believe I never had too much of an opportunity after I left Cleveland. I was behind Jamaal Charles at Kansas City. I didn’t get too much playing time. I felt when I got in I did well, and then I was in Tampa and never really got to touch the field because of Doug Martin. He’s pretty good. I’m just here to do whatever I can to help the team win. I think that this is a good team that can turn it around.”
Hillis overall is a mediocre running back who isn’t known for catching the ball out of the backfield. Now that I think about it, he fits right in with what the Giants have been trying to do all season.
