Forget Finish – Let’s Get Something Started!

I want everyone to watch all 5 minutes of this video, and think about what feels worse. An 0-6 start in 2013, finally getting that first win? Or losing to the Eagles at home at Christmas time in 2010, up by 21 points with less than 8 minutes to go before clinching a playoff spot.

The Eagles aren’t the team looking to perform a miracle here. If anything miraculous happens in the NFL in the coming weeks you damn well better be sure it’s the NY Giants going on an unprecedented winning streak, starting Sunday at 1pm agains the hated Philadelphia Eagles in their house. The Giants are due to embarrass the Birds at home, and extend that losing streak they have going for them in front of their fans. Nothing would please me more than to see this revamped NY Giants defense completely rip into the Eagles and completely upend the league’s best rushing attack. If anyone can do it, it’s the guys that kept Adrian Peterson in check with 28 rush yards Monday night.

This is the Giants’ game to lose in my opinion. Fresh off a win – the first team to play Philly twice this season, sporting a much better defense with Jon Beason in the middle, a defensive line aching to get a few more sacks on Michael Vick, and an offense that’s JUST starting to come out of it’s shell. Should be interesting.

If Brandon Jacobs can play we’re looking at two bruising backs ready to gut the Eagles defense, with Michael Cox ready as the change of pace guy… the Giants just might out rush the Eagles in this game. The Eagle run defense is currently ranked 13th, we’re 4th. The Eagles have the worst pass rush in the league, third worst pass coverage. If our OL is halfway decent — which is wasn’t last time these teams played — we should torch them. Should be a good one.
