Giants Make It 4 In A Row

Make no mistake about it – the Giants Defense put another win in the books for Big Blue yesterday. Led by a spectacular effort by JPP, Justin Tuck, Jon Beason, and Antrel Rolle – the NY Giants improved to 4-6 with a much needed win over the Green Bay Packers and remain 1.5 games out of first place in the NFC East.

Even though Antrel Rolle and Jon Beason made interceptions yesterday — JPP had the play of the season for the NY Giants when, after calling his shot, picked off a TE screen play and brought it to the house to put the Giants up 27-13 for a game winning pick six. Video of the play can be seen here, and it’s certainly worth a second look.

This game wasn’t all about Defense though — as Eli Manning turned in his best collective game of the season and ‘managed’ the Giants to their fourth win in a row. Eli Manning since this winning streak began has thrown 2 interceptions compared to the 15 he threw during the 6 game losing streak… progress has indeed been made in the turnover department. Manning’s lone interception yesterday can be largely blamed on WR Louis Murphy, who subbed in for Hakeem Nicks and it seems mis-communicated with the QB. Despite the blemish, Eli Manning accrued 279 yards passing and a first quarter TD to Rueben Randle in a 2007-esque effort. Victor Cruz had 110 yards on 8 receptions, no TDs. And of course, Hakeem Nicks still has yet to catch a TD this season.
