This Giants Offense Lives and Dies with Andre Brown

Since Running Back Andre Brown has been back for the New York Giants, this offense has been incredibly efficient. The running game finally has a face, and that is helping Eli Manning find open receivers.

Through the first 6 weeks of the regular season, the Giants hadn’t had a reliable option at the running back position to gain yards on the ground. And because of that, Eli was severely pressured from opposing defenses, as they knew that this Giants team could not beat them running down their throats, but putting it through the air.

And because of that, Manning through an astonishing 15 interceptions, struggling to find a rhythm  on offense. However, on the four game winning streak with Andre Brown, he has only thrown a mere two picks, attributed in large part to Andre Brown.

Since his coming out party a few weeks ago with over 100 yards rushing, he has kept defenses honest, as they must account for the dynamic running back. If they continue to just play the pass, Brown will surely run it against them and pick up huge yardage and score at will.

With Brown keeping defenses honest, Eli has time to survey the field and find the open man, as opponents have to keep some of their attention on the running back, and cannot throw all of their men on pass coverage.

Without the contributions from Andre Brown, this offense will be no more successful than their 0-6 start, due to a lack of running presence. He is very much in the running for MVP for the Giants this season.
