Giants Shuffle Roster – Brandon Jacobs Heads To Injured Reserve

Brandon Jacobs’ ailing knee hasn’t gotten better. Last we heard he was at most 80%, so the Giants yesterday put Jacobs on season ending injured reserve. Amazingly Jacobs, after getting off the couch, had his first 100 game since 2011 and scored four touchdowns this season with the Giants. Will this be the end for Jacobs as a Giants? Will his career be over? That seems to be what the feeling is today, but who knows what might unfold over the offseason.

You have to give the man credit though — he made it clear through various discussions before he signed with the Giants that he wanted to end up back in NY, that he loved the organization, missed his team, and wanted another shot. He got that opportunity and played damn hard for this team when they needed a leader in the RB spot. We owe him a debt of gratitude for many things, but picking this team up when they were down and lighting a fire on a winless team was one of them. Thanks so much BJ27.

LB Marcus Dowtin was signed from the Practice Squad, the Giants cut LB Darin Drakeford, and also signed DE Kendrick Adams and CB Chaz Powell to the Practice Squad as well yesterday.

I’ve always been a fan of Jacobs..with his play….his passion for the game and a real team player. He deserves a shot at coming back with the team next season. And I’m sure it wont cost the team that much money.

I wonder…would Jacobs and or the Giants consider to being a TE? hes got the build for it and he’s a great blocker. If his knee heals up well and he works on some routs and he’s got good hands…why not??

And at the very least he should retire as a Giant when the time comes.

    GO GIANTS!!
