Welcome Home for Christmas Tiki Barber.

My opinion; there’s nothing more exciting around this time of year as NFL teams start making a push for the playoffs while their loyal fans are making a run form one party to another – usually ending up at a festive family gathering, but the Giants won’t be playing again this year. I think there’s one player who needs to be welcome home for the Holidays and its Tiki Barber.

What Giant player did as much to get his teammates to the playoffs then – Tiki Barber? No player 5’ 9” ever carried a team as far as Tiki did. And I think the person making the call should be Coach Tom Coughlin.

Hear my out!

We all know that Tom Coughlin has one rule that can’t be broken and that is to keep your anger and frustrations with your team inside the locker room and not air-it-out-to the press. In high school over the door to our locker room was a sign that said – “what is said in here says in here”. It’s a universal rule in all sports. however Tiki Barber broke that rule and I believe he has paid the price.

If Tom Coughlin decides that after this year he is going to continue coaching or retire he will do so with two Super Bowl rings something that Tiki only wishes he had. Sometimes you can want something too much and getting beat the last two years in the playoffs I think it was more then Tiki could handle. You can’t ask a player to give his best every time he touches the football, to be the best he can be on every down and not be disappointed when he looses a big game so close to the end of his career.

Tom Coughlin is the only one that can invite Tiki back inside the Giant locker room again.

Lets face it, the Green Bay Packers won’t be the same team until Brett Favre goes home to Lambeau Field and the same can be said about the Giants and Tiki Barber. After all, Tiki was perhaps the greatest running back in Giant history and it would be nice this holiday to raise a glass of cheer while cheering once again for number 21!

Go Giants and Happy Holidays.

“Book-it Dano!”

I welcomed Tiki the day Giants won the Superbowl. Nothing could hurt more then being probably the greatest RB in team history and carry the offense for so many yrs to retire and the team wins the Superbowl. I remember Don Mattinly admitted he cried when he retired and the Yankees won the Championship. It wasn’t out of joy.
