Walter Thurmond Is The Giants Next Starting Slot CB

Move over Jayron Hosely, you’ve got some good competition. Former Seattle Seahawk CB Walter Thurmond was signed by the Giants over the weekend – and regardless of what else happens this is a very, very solid move to shore up the defensive backfield.

Last season, Thurmond played in 12 regular-season games with three starts. He missed four games while serving a suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Thurmond returned for the regular-season finale against St. Louis and played in all three postseason games.

PFF_Pete had the following to say about the move, apparently Thurmond hasn’t allowed a TD in coverage since 2011:

Ranked by passer rating thrown into coverage, Thurmond was also the 13th best corner according to PFF
