WR Jerrel Jernigan Done for the Season With Foot Injury

Giants wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with a foot sprain, Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Jernigan, whose contract ends at the end of the season, could have played his last snap as a member of the Giants.

Since 2011, Jernigan has played in 34 games, catching 38 passes for 391 yards and two touchdowns. The team thought their 2011 third-round pick was finally coming around when he caught 19 passes for 237 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the team’s final three games last season.

In Jernigan’s place, the team called up Julian Talley from the practice squad. Talley, who played alongside Victor Cruz at UMass, played in a handful of games with the Giants last season.
