Jason Pierre-Paul Wants To Retire With the Giants

One month ago, Jason Pierre-Paul had no idea what the future held for him. But on Wednesday, the Giants’ defensive end said he wants the Giants to be a part of it, Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News reports.

“Yeah, if I can stay here, I would love to be a Giant for life,” JPP said. “I don’t know what the future has.”

It was in November that JPP, a free agent after this season, was noncommittal about his future, saying “if I’m here, I’m here. If I’m not, I’m not.” But he seemed more relaxed on Wednesday, perhaps because he’s stepped up his play in recent weeks. After struggling to get to the quarterback for much of the year, he’s racked up 3 ½ sacks in his last two games against the Jags and Titans.

JPP said he has been “playing great” this year, and he added that he’s not spending much time dwelling on his next contract.

“All I am thinking about is going through the offseason and getting better,” he said. “Just going to look at my film work and see what I can do better next year. That is my main goal. I am not worried about my contract.”
