Report Claims Jason Pierre-Paul Visiting Giants This Week

Jason Pierre-Paul will arrive at the Giants’ facility either Monday or Tuesday with the intent of signing his franchise tender in an attempt to return to the field as soon as possible, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

There have been false alarms before in this sticky situation, so nothing is on the schedule or even expected until it actually happens.

This is not a clear path back into a Giants uniform for Pierre-Paul, who has a permanently damaged right hand after a July 4 fireworks accident. He has not engaged in any football activity in more than four months and there is plenty of fence-mending to be done with the Giants.

First, he must pass a physical exam, which he was unable to do on Labor Day, the first time he allowed the Giants to take a look at his mangled right hand.

Pierre-Paul has missed the first seven games of the season, meaning the maximum worth of the tender is now $8.7 million — a salary the Giants will never agree to pay.
